The Brussels Quiz League takes place at The Wild Rover Irish Pub & Sports Bar. Themed events and special editions occasionally take place at other venues across Brussels.

The Monday league quiz starts at 19:00 and lasts between two and three hours, including breaks and the winner's ceremony. Other events may have different start times.

Geography, history, science, culture, literature, music, film, sport, fashion — and plenty more. All categories are represented as equally as possible.

Absolutely. The quiz is designed for all ages and interests. Even someone who has never attended a quiz before should be able to answer a good portion of the questions independently.

The Wild Rover accommodates up to 28 tables indoors. Additional spots on the terrace depend on the weather. Other venues vary by capacity.

Almost all quizzes are hosted by Ivan, who independently writes all questions, creates presentations, and handles visuals. In case of absence, a replacement host will be announced in advance.

After several years of occasional hosting in Croatia, Ivan has been running weekly quizzes in English in Brussels for nearly three years.

All bookings are made through the TicketTailor platform. Payment is accepted by card or PayPal.

A Monday league ticket costs €25 per team (up to 5 people). Friday themed events are €20 per table. Other events may vary depending on the occasion and costs involved.

You will be directed to complete payment through TicketTailor on the evening.

Yes. Contact ivan@wastedwisdomtrivia.com before the event and your ticket will either be refunded or moved to another available date. In the case of a no-show without prior notice, a refund is only possible if you get in touch. After a second no-show, refunds are no longer available.

Yes. Tickets are not tied to a specific person — only to a team slot. The team name can also be changed at any point before the first answer sheet is submitted.

Not at the moment. There are no bundle discounts for multiple teams on one date or the same team across multiple dates.

League quizzes can be booked from the start of the season. Themed events can be booked as soon as they are announced on TicketTailor.

Of course. If there's a spot in another team, connections can be made. If you just want to see what the quiz is like, there's usually space at the bar.

Five people. In exceptional cases, a sixth person may be allowed with prior notice, so that an appropriate table can be arranged. Without notice, more than five people will not be permitted.

Yes, as long as the combined number doesn't exceed five. Or they can compete as two separate teams — entirely their choice.

The first question is read around 19:10. If your table is not claimed by 19:00, it may be given to a team on the waiting list and you will be moved to the bar, terrace, or another available spot.

No. Phones and smartwatches that could be used to search for answers or Shazam music are strictly not allowed.

Yes, prizes for the winning team are provided by the pub.

Each correct answer earns one point. Half points do not exist.

Tied teams will play a tiebreaker round, which is always different.

Yes, up until the first answer sheet is submitted.

The plan is to hold a themed quiz on the last Friday of each month, but this depends on various factors. Some months may have more than one, others may fall on a different Friday.

The Brussels Quiz League is currently in its fifth season, bringing together over 30 teams on a weekly basis and more than a hundred different teams throughout the season.

Depending on the time of year, a season consists of 15 or 20 quizzes. The top 10 teams at the end of the season receive prizes.

Each quiz carries a maximum of 60 points. Scores accumulate throughout the season, and each team's worst result is dropped — giving every team one free week.

Yes. Each quiz is scored and rewarded independently. A team can participate on any given Monday without being part of the league standings.

Yes. The only thing worth keeping consistent is the team name.

Yes. The top 10 teams receive prizes based on their final position. First place wins free entry for the entire following season.

No. Tables are not assigned to specific teams. Regular teams are accommodated where possible, but if another team takes a table before you arrive, that cannot be controlled.

If your group is happy to split across multiple teams, you're welcome to book as many tables as are available on TicketTailor. Each table accommodates up to five people.
